This bowl-shaped artwork is a part of Tamara Efrat's Bauhaus set. It can be used as a decorating bowl to serve or store small items such as jewelry or even nuts. The project is inspired by the women of the Bauhaus institution. At the time, women practiced crafts (not arts or architecture).
The set is a translation of weaved carpets crafted in Tel-Aviv in the 1930s into surface topography. The woven textiles were transformed into three-dimensional objects using a digital mapping tool and a 3D printer. Tamara reconstructed the techniques and methods used to create textiles and created beautiful porcelain objects.
